VSOS Superbly Skilled Surgeon

A superbly skilled surgeon

By virtue of passing rigorous surgical examinations, Andrew became a Diplomate of the American (ACVS) and European Colleges of Veterinary Surgeons (ECVS), as well as a member of the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists.

Andrew has been published in a number of veterinary journals, including the Journal of Veterinary Internal Medicine, Journal of Small Animal Practice, Australian Veterinary Journal, and Veterinary Anesthesia and Analgesia. His research includes the first-ever veterinary transjugular liver biopsy series in dogs.

Versed in all complex orthopaedic, neurological, soft tissue (including oncologic) and interventional radiologic procedures, his special interests include cruciate repair (TPLO/TTA), fracture repair and joint replacement (certified in total hip, micro total hip, knee, and elbow (CUE) surgery).

“I worked with some of the best guys in America when I trained. Surgeons who’ve done the most hip replacements on dogs and cats, in the world. That training gave me the foundations to be able to put any broken bone back together.”

New hospital for VSOS

Andrew has always been driven by his love of veterinary surgery and making a difference in the lives of animals and the people who love them. And he is very excited about VSOS’s new animal hospital, which is an advanced treatment centre located in the Sutherland Shire, with state-of-the-art equipment and a 24-hour emergency centre.

“The future is definitely looking bright for the VSOS hospital. It’s a wonderful team of specialists and vet nurses and it’s a pleasure to be here every day, doing what we do.

It’s all about the animals and giving them great outcomes with the surgeries.”
