Dr Abigail Turner

Surgery Resident
BVetMed, MANZCVS (Small Animal Surgery)

Dr Abigail Turner graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2013 and for the first six years of her professional career, she worked as a mixed animal vet in England.  She frequently volunteered for animal charities donating her time to both Mission Rabies, providing a One Health approach to eliminate dog bite transmitted rabies and Street Vet, providing free essential veterinary care to the pets of people experiencing homelessness in the UK.

As the daughter of a vet, Abi has always been passionate about animals and even has her own Hermann’s Tortoise called “Merlin” who has the run of the yard (when he’s not hibernating!). She has received awards in Zoological medicine and has been fortunate to have professional opportunities working with wildlife in Zimbabwe.

In 2020, she moved to Australia to work in Sydney, where she completed the surgical internship at VSOS, concurrently gaining a postgraduate qualification in small animal surgery.  Following this, she accepted a surgical residency here at VSOS and completed her memberships in radiography.

On her days off she can be found surfing at the local beach or running the coastline.

Abi enjoys all areas of surgery and will be joining our mobile surgical service soon.
