Patient stories
“Karina, and all of the vet nurses and vet specialists at VSOS, have such incredible empathy."
On the hardest day of Jimmy Barnes' life, the VSOS team was there.
Usually, when your pet has been taken to hospital for a procedure, you will not get to see them until you get the call that they’re ready to be picked up. This separates you completely from your pet for the entire duration of the procedure. And worse, it doesn’t involve you in any information aside from the “we’re ready” call.
We plan to do things differently at our brand-new animal hospital.
We believe that pet owners should be kept in the know about their pet’s condition and progress. And that you should be able to visit your pet in hospital… just as you would normally be able to do with a sick human relative.
We have designed our brand-new animal hospital with pets and their owners in mind. So yes, you will be able to visit your sick pet as they recover from their procedure…
Giving you and your pet a better hospital experience.
The biggest frustration for pet owners going through a hospital experience with their pets is that they aren’t told very much about their pet’s condition. They drop them off for the procedure… and they don’t hear anything until they get the call that the procedure is complete.
The VSOS team has seen this frustration time and again with owners dealing with hospitals.
And it’s why we are committed to providing every pet owner with open and honest communication from the moment we meet you… continuing on through your whole stay with us… and longer, if needed.
Compassion, openness and honesty are our core values at VSOS. And our team of medical and surgical specialists are compassionate and approachable.
So we will talk to you directly from the start. And we will update you as we are looking after your beloved animal.
Another big frustration for pet owners when they are dealing with a hospital situation, is that they feel disconnected from the process. Feeling more like an extra in their own pet’s life.
At VSOS, we believe in building partnerships with our pet owners. We are already trusted partners with vets all over Sydney and beyond. And we treat our pet owners with the same respect we do our vets.
That’s because not only are we animal lovers who are caring and compassionate. We are also pet owners, and we understand the deep love and commitment you have with your pet.
So, when our new hospital opens in July 2020, not only will you speak with the specialist or surgeon from the get-go…
You can be assured that we are your true partners on the journey to help your pet take the steps they need towards a happier, healthier life.
Our team is dedicated to being at the forefront of veterinary medicine. And that extends to our new hospital.
Our brand-new advanced treatment centre, which will open in July 2020 in the Sutherland Shire, will have state-of-the-art equipment. So, our expert specialist vets and surgeons will be backed by the latest technology and techniques in veterinary medicine. Giving you and your pet better, faster, more effective diagnoses and treatments.
Our specialists have trained and studied at some of the most prestigious institutions around the world. What’s more, Dr Andrew Levien is a leading orthopaedic surgeon, and Dr Karina Graham introduced some minimally invasive laser-assisted techniques in Sydney.
So when you leave your beloved pet with the VSOS hospital, you can rest assured that they are in expert hands.
