We are proud to have Dr. Iñaki Prado Checa, a Veterinary Cardiologist, at VSOS. He graduated from the University of León, Spain, in 2013, and after a rotating internship, worked as a general practice veterinarian in the UK. Dr. Iñaki enhanced his training with internships at Cambridge and Edinburgh, and completed a cardiology residency at the Royal Veterinary College and Langford Vets.
Along with Dr Inaki, comes our new Baby Heart Clinic, which is dedicated to the early detection and management of heart diseases in puppies and kittens. As you know, early diagnosis is crucial for effective treatment and improved outcomes in young animals with heart conditions.
Iñaki is a Diplomate in Veterinary Cardiology with interests in echocardiography, arrhythmias, and arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy. He enjoys sports, traveling, and salsa and bachata dancing. He works Tuesday to Friday and can be booked through Medicine Coordinator Alissa at alissa@vsos.com.au.

At Veterinary Specialists of Sydney, we know how important early intervention is. That’s why we’ve introduced the Baby Heart Clinic, led by our Dr Inaki.
If your puppy or kitten is under 1 year old, has a heart murmur but is otherwise healthy, they may be eligible for a specialist echocardiogram and report for a heavily discounted rate.
This quick and non-invasive ultrasound helps us determine whether their murmur is something they’ll grow out of or a sign of a more serious condition. With this knowledge, we can guide you on the best next steps for their health and future.
